I had a very nice weekend, because Grandma C came to visit me. Well, technically she was coming to visit her daughter and Mama G, and I just happened to be there, but in any case, we hit it off smashingly well and just like a cat, I turned it into all about me!
As you may remember, Grandma C was working on making me a “thunder shirt,” since I’m afraid of storms. She’s pretty creative, That One. Well the moment came when it was time to try it on and unfortunately it was a bit of fail, as I couldn’t walk in it.

But my grandma is a good seamstress, so after a few alterations, the shirt was placed on me again. I guess everyone was expecting me to freak out, but I have to admit, it felt pretty darn comforting, which is the point! I just went and chilled out for a bit, feeling all snug and loved.

So bring on the wind, rain, lightning and thunder! I just hope someone is home at the time to put the shirt on me.
Dear Mr. Oxbow,
Just the other day I was wondering how the “Thundershirt” was coming along. I know Mama C’s mom was creating it. Amazing…today what shows up but a photo of the Thundershirt! Isn’t great that you are so loved by so many people. That Thundershirt should help during outrageous noise episodes. Now the trick will be to slither into it by yourself….I know you can do it. Felines are extremely flexible and determined. Here’s a suggestion for your Mamas: how about creating a “body frame” of some soft flexible material like pipe cleaners? Then maybe the Thundershirt could slide over the body frame and then Mr. Oxbow could crawl into the body frame/thundershirt all by himself. Hmmm…wonder if it would work. What do you think, Mr. Oxbow? It would be great if it worked, then you wouldn’t get anxious if there is an unexpected storm and no one was home….
