Love is (back) in the air

love

I’m a firm believer in the power of contrasts: We need the darkness to appreciate the light, the cold to embrace the warmth, and sometimes sadness to know happiness.

You may recall that I was born in a shelter and was returned there two years later when my first family hit some hard times. My rough start left me with an overblown fear of abandonment, so whenever my mamas go on one of their trips, I become perhaps a little more nervous than the average cat.

Those Two just returned from another jaunt and I was, as usual, lonely in their absence, despite daily visits from my wonderful pet sitter, Bobbie. But I realized that with every trip they take, I become less vulnerable. That’s the good thing about adversity: it challenges us, but we learn more about ourselves and can grow from it. I’m becoming a stronger cat every day.

It sure is nice to have them back, though.

  1. Dear Mr. Oxbow, at some point in each of our lives, adversity enters. The challenge is how to handle the unwanted or unexpected. There are those who say “all change is good”. For you, my favorite feline friend, the many challenges you have faced have only made you stronger, more insightful and able to view life from a broader perspective. I admire your courage!
