If it’s one thing humans know how to do well, it’s hype an event to the point where disappointment is almost sure to follow. Today’s excitement over the first total eclipse of the sun since 1918 is likely to be just another example of such folly.
I’ll probably sleep through it, but just in case …

Dear Mr. Oxbow, Your Mama G is quite the quick photographer! She caught you wearing your sunglasses just in case those nasty solar rays sneak into your abode.
I’m not even attempting to look at the sun, nor look thru anything to view the eclipse. There will be thousands of pix on social media. Sadly, some folks will have to make an appt with an opthamologist b/c they ignored all the warnings regarding how to view it safely. You— however, are a very wise feline!

Well I’m not sure how wise I am, since I don’t think regular sunglasses will protect me, but you know Mama G: she can never pass up a photo op! Hope you enjoy your eclipse moment!
