If you Google “pets and household falls,” you’ll find plenty of stories about how cats and dogs cause tens of thousands of injuries each year by tripping up their owners. One study found that dogs caused seven-and-a-half times as many injuries as cats. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends obedience training for dogs to help reduce the chances of injury. Ha! Good luck with that!
Anyway, while I have yet to cause an injury, my mamas have on occasion accused me of trying to “assassinate” them, usually with my signature move of making a high-speed diagonal pass in front of them as they descend the stairs. And now my latest favorite resting place has set off a few alarm bells. But I mean no harm to Those Two. I love them, and they are, after all, literally the hands that feed me. Which is why I am considerate enough to leave room for them to hold the handrail as they go down the stairs. That’s a good practice for everyone to adopt, even if they don’t have pets.
Oxbow you are so thoughtful! Yes, there is a SLIGHT bit of room for them to go down the stairs!

Dear Mr. Oxbow,
Stairs are treacherous for felines and females alike. Sleeping on the stairs is one of those situations where if you did see one of your beloved mamas trip over you and fall, you would be not only guilty of causing injury but greatly upset as well. You have a thousand different places to catnap….stay away from the stairs except to go from floor to floor WITHOUT anyone else!

Hey dear Mr.Oxbow, we’re so very sure the only reason you were on the stairs was to get a delicious bottle of wine (well actually two – a white and red one 😉) out of the basement for the today’s event, and you were tired and needed a little nap on your way downstairs..😂
Well, Happy 15th Wedding Anniversary!!
Greetings from Benji, Coco, Leo and Betty.
